15 month old suddenly not settling at night

Any advice please... my 15 month old is suddenly screaming when put to bed at night and needs someone to stand in the room by the door until she falls asleep. It started when we went away for the weekend and she was in a travel cot. I have tried leaving her to cry for 5 minutes at a time but this doesn't seem to help. I don't pick her up and I say 'lie down, it's time to sleep.' The same thing happens at nap time. She has also started waking in the night periodically . Historically she was a bad sleeper but has been sleeping through for the past 4 months. Could it be separation anxiety or is she just trying it on?!

She may well be just trying it on. Keep lying her down everytime she stands up. When she stays down. leave the room for 10 minutes rather than 5. When you go back in, do the same again i.e. keep lying her down and then leave for 10 minutes and so on. This technique should also help the night waking.
