Bedtime crying
Since George was about 4 months old (he is now 22 months old) and i contacted you for help he has been a very good sleeper, apart from a little bit of early waking that we still have now, but the last week we have had problems putting him to bed. We had a few days away and his routine was changed a little due to sleeping in a travel cot in our room. Now when we put him in his cot for bed he starts moaning a little bit but i distract him by reading a book like normal, but then when i say goodnight, put his music on and walk out he start crying histerically. I have left it 10 mins and when i go up he is standing up with his arms up in the air pointing to me, so I pick him up and give him a cuddle for a minute then he points to his cot and I put him back in and he goes straight off to sleep and we don't hear a thing until he wakes (normally 5.30-6am!! which is too early but I think I have to accept he is an early riser). I know this isn't too bad but would like him not to be upset when going to bed like before. He is fine for his lunch time sleep. He has also recently become a little clingy to me wanting mummy all the time so not sure if this is to do with it. Am I doing the right thing picking him up, because in the past I have not allowed myself to just incase he got used to it, but it does seem to be the only thing that helps?

It sounds like a phase which should pass quite quickly. For the moment stick with the little cuddle, but don't lengthen it or start staying with him whilst he falls asleep. Keep us posted with what's happening.
