I am 33 years old and Ellis is my first child. Ellis is a delight to look after. I am going back to work full time soon and am hoping that I can abolish the night feed before the dreaded return!

Controlled crying away from home

We plan to try the controlled crying technique as outlined in the book tonight! Izabella is 7 months and 3 weeks and whilst she is always a dream to settle (she is always asleep by 7/7.15pm and then will sleep until 6.30/7.30am), she can wake 2 - 3 times a night demanding a feed.
We also give her a small (4 oz) dream feed at 10.30pm. We live in an apartment block and my husband and I do not want to go through the additional stress of disturbing the neighbours. We plan therefore to decamp for 4 nights to my parents' house which is in the middle of the countryside with no neighbours other than sheep and my parents are currently away on holiday. She has slept in the nursery in their house many times before and the cot, mattress and cot bumpers are identical to the ones she has at home.
Can you please let me know if you think we are silly to do CC away from home or are our chances of success just as high?
Lastly, when she first wakes in the night, do we check on her immediately and then begin the 5/10/15 minute checking intervals or do we wait 5 mins the first time before going in?
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi, your baby seems to have changed age and sex! Logins are only valid for the person who actually purchased the book (as the sales of these are what keeps the Forum free), can you please email me to clarify. Thank you.

Hi Wendy - please accept my apologies - I borrowed the book from Ellis's Mum and didn't realize that I couldn't use her login details. I totally understand that you need sales of the book to keep running the forum. I will purchase my own copy and then re-post my question. Best wishes and sorry once again.
